One guitar theme that I always loved is the Spanish/Flamenco-oriented melody of “Seven Days” by the British singer/songwriter Craig David. Musically, it’s made of a sequence of three minor chords (Em9, Am, Bm) that create that sense of “melancholy” all thru’ the song. Production was made by Mark Hill (I suppose he played the guitar in the song, as well). The beat is very simple, basic drums, a minimal sound very “Folk-oriented”, if I may say.so. Craig’s amazing vocals are a winner. Once again- back then- there still were good RnB singers who wouldn’t change their sound to conqueer a wider audience.
